Proposed Grays Bay Road

The proposed route corridor for the all-weather Grays Bay Road passes close by Blue Star’s Ulu-Hood River and Roma projects. The proposed Grays Bay Road will provide access to the deepwater Grays Bay Port located 40 km north of Blue Star’s Roma Claims, connecting southern Canada with the Northwest Territories and Nunavut as part of the Arctic Security Corridor. The proposed route was planned to increase connectivity in the mineral-rich Slave Province and strengthen continental defense of the northern border of North America.

Regulatory

Nunavut is a politically stable and mining-friendly region, with a government that recognizes the industry’s contributions to the provincial economy and infrastructure development. Blue Star’s claims are a combination of mineral exploration agreements on Inuit Owned Land, crown claims, and the renewable 21-year Ulu mining lease, all of which allow for surface and underground exploration. Blue Star prioritizes employment of local workers, utilization of northern contractors and working with local governments to fulfill all regulatory and environmental requirements. Blue Star’s work in has been recognized with the 2023 Nunavut Mining Symposium Corporate Award, which is granted to a corporation who has displayed outstanding work towards the economic and social development of a community, region, or Nunavut in general over the past year.
